Government Authorised Exchange Visa

An Overseas Government Language Programme, or engaging in research or fellowship opportunities in the UK, you may be eligible for the Temporary Work – Government Authorised Exchange visa.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for this visa, applicants must:

Intend to undertake a short-term work assignment, training, language program, research, or fellowship in the UK, facilitated through a recognized government-authorised exchange scheme.

Secure sponsorship from a licensed sponsor, affirming the legitimacy of the proposed work and personal credentials.

Fulfil the comprehensive eligibility prerequisites stipulated for the visa category.

It's important to note that the Temporary Work - Government Authorised Exchange visa (T5) has been superseded by this current visa classification.

Understanding Sponsorship:

A fundamental requirement for this visa involves obtaining a certificate of sponsorship from an accredited sponsor. This certificate is a unique reference number provided by your sponsor, encapsulating specific details about your employment and identity.

Your professional activities, training, or research in the UK must correspond with your sponsoring organization’s operational domain.

Eligible sponsors encompass a diverse spectrum, including:

Entities administering approved exchange schemes.

Higher education institutions (applicable for sponsored researchers, visiting academics, or examiners).

Specific government departments or agencies.

This visa route underscores the UK’s commitment to fostering global exchange and nurturing skills development across various sectors. By simplifying access to short-term work opportunities, it aims to catalyze professional growth and innovation within the UK’s industrial landscape.
