Stay Duration
The Global Talent visa allows you to live and work in the UK for up to 5 years at a time.
Extension and Settlement
You can extend your visa for periods ranging from 1 to 5 years. Indefinite leave to remain is also an option for settling in the UK, depending on your field and application method.

- 8 weeks for applications made within the UK. Extra time may be needed if an appointment is required for identity verification.
Yes, if you have an appointment, you may be able to pay for a faster decision. This option varies depending on whether you are applying from inside or outside the UK.
The total application fee is £716. If applying based on an endorsement, you pay £524 for the endorsement and £192 for the visa. For those applying based on an eligible award, the full fee is paid when applying for the visa. Each family member included in your application must also pay £716.
The healthcare surcharge is usually £624 per year for each applicant.
You'll need a valid passport, tuberculosis test results (if applicable), and permission to apply if you've had a scholarship or award to study in the UK. If your documents are not in English or Welsh, a certified translation is required.
Before applying, ensure you have either won an eligible award or successfully applied for an endorsement. If endorsed, apply within 3 months of receiving your endorsement letter and ensure the endorsing organization has not withdrawn its approval.
